Way 1: from a link, one tap
- Pick any proxy in the list below and tap “Connect”.
- Telegram opens with a “Proxy” window — tap “Connect proxy”.
- Done: a shield icon appears at the top of the chat list.
Way 2: by hand in settings
- Open Telegram → ☰ menu → Settings → Data and Storage.
- At the bottom, find Proxy Settings and tap Add Proxy.
- Choose the type: MTProto or SOCKS5.
- Enter the server and port. For MTProto add the secret too — it is the part of the proxy link after “secret=”.
- Tap the check mark to save, and turn on Use Proxy.
If it does not connect
A shield with a clock means Telegram is trying to connect. If that lasts over a minute, the proxy is unreachable — pick another. Proxy Settings can hold several proxies, and you switch between them with a single tap.
