Signs that the proxy works
- A shield icon appeared at the top of the chat list, and “Connecting…” is gone.
- Messages go out, photos and videos load.
- In the proxy settings it says “Connected” next to it, with its ping.
Where to see the status and ping
On Android: Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy Settings. On iPhone: Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy. On a computer: Settings → Advanced → Connection type.
In that list Telegram checks every saved proxy by itself and shows whether it is available and what its ping is. Pick an available proxy with the lowest ping.
If a proxy doesn’t answer
Free proxies are short-lived: they get overloaded or blocked. We re-check the list all the time, and every proxy on the site shows when it was last checked. If one won’t connect, just take another from the list below.
