How to set up a proxy in Telegram on a computer

Our Telegram channel Fresh proxies every day t.me/tgproxypink

Telegram Desktop on Windows, macOS and Linux supports the same proxies as the phone app. Connect from a link or by hand.

Way 1: from a link

  1. Click “Connect” next to a proxy in the list below — the browser offers to open Telegram.
  2. Agree, and click “Enable” in Telegram.
  3. If the browser does not open Telegram, click “Copy”, send the link to your Saved Messages, then click it inside Telegram.

Way 2: by hand in settings

  1. Open Settings → Advanced → Connection type.
  2. Choose “Use custom proxy” and click “Add proxy”.
  3. Set the type (MTProto or SOCKS5), server, port and, for MTProto, the secret — the part of the link after “secret=”.
  4. Save — the proxy is on at once. In the Telegram app for macOS the path differs: Settings → Data and Storage → Proxy.

Already connected on your phone?

Proxies on the phone and on the computer are set up separately. The quickest way to move one is to click “QR” next to a proxy on this site and point your phone’s camera at it — or copy the link to Saved Messages and open it on the computer.
